We met Karen and Adrian at Blu for breakfast at 7:30 this morning. It didn’t disappoint. Everything was outstanding as we expected. It was nice to start our day with Ganna, Gabriel and Mazy. We wished we had done that more. Not sure what happened to the Riddles but they dissed us. You know, when you first start the cruise the room service seems so special. Breakfast out on your own balcony is so nice. But by the end of the week, we were over our choices for room service. We’ll know better next time. And oh yes, there will be a next time.
Bob and I wanted to go into town and try shopping again in the morning because we had a snorkeling tour planned for the afternoon. We found this one jewelry store and did some damage. Mr. Troupe made up for quite a few years of not showering me with jewelry. Mama hit pay dirt. We will be going back to the Gold Mine the next time we’re in Saint Thomas. We really liked the people and they had no problem negotiating. We had about an hour to go back to the ship, change and grab some lunch before meeting for the snorkeling tour.
We boarded the Dancing Dolphin cat about 12:30 and were at our first stop in about half and hour – Turtle Cove. Yes, we did see turtles – Several of them. We even saw a stingray! The water wasn’t as pretty or as clear in Barbados but it was still cool. The next spot was just around the corner – Shipwreck Cove. There were tons of yellow tail snapper swimming around as soon as we jumped in the water. There were other kinds of fish as well but I don’t know what they were. Then we swam up close to the beach to see the coral, which was pretty cool. At some point when I came up for air the small group of us who were still close to the beach were being waved down – it was time to go back to dock. I loved it. I could seriously do that every day. It’s just magical.

Back on the ship it was spa time again. We really love that Herbal steam room. We met a farmer from Nebraska in there and had quite an interesting conversation. He has a place in Cabo he raved about. Eh, it’s still Mexico and I haven’t lost anything there.
We shared a bottle of wine with Jacques and Gigi before dinner to wallow in our misery together. The last night is a sad, sad thing. This week has flown by and been so incredibly wonderful. I’m not ready to go back to reality and cold weather. Finally it was time to go down to Blu for our last dinner. They had our regular table ready and waiting! What a joy to share another meal with good friends, old and new, and people who enjoy taking care of you. It sure makes a body feel special. Which is exactly what Mazy said when we left. It thanked him for making us feel special with week and he responded by saying “we make those who are special feel special.” I thought was a nice way of saying that. We got pictures with Gabriel and Ganna, Mazy and Eren. Ganna stopped back your table and left a piece of paper with her email on it along with an empty piece for us to put our email.
Thankfully we will see them one more time in the morning for breakfast before disembarking for the airport. We took pictures tonight at dinner with Ganna and Gabriel, and then Eren our sommelier because every recommendation he gave us was spot on. We loved him as well. When we left we corralled mazy for a group shot too. Ganna also gave us her email and we gave her ours. I hope we stay in touch. She seems to be such a sweet person.
Ugh. The fun part was next. Packing up. We have to have the luggage outside the room door before 11:00pm. Not looking forward to that. Tomorrow is back to reality. Sigh. Guess it’s time to close down shop.
