Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day out on the water this morning. We had some tea and coffee out on the deck before going down to breakfast at Blu. It was nice to have a leisurely morning (and day). After breakfast we suited up and went to find a spot somewhere by one of the pools. Sarah found a couple of chairs and snagged them. Within a few minutes the hammock next to them became available. Hmmmm, this could be interesting. It’s a double hammock. Bob went in search of some water so he didn’t get to witness the grace with which I hauled myself into it. I have to admit though, it was pretty comfy once we got situated – until we had to get out of it. Slightly challenging. (The lady next to Sarah got a kick out of me trying to get my graceful self back in the damn thing after going to the bathroom. We were all dying. What can I say? That’s ok, I got to laugh at her licking the syrup off the outside of her cup, so I guess we’re even – for now.) We read, napped and drank our way through the rest of the morning watching the water slide by. It was wonderful. The couple next to DE and Sarah vacated their chairs so I moved us over while Bob and DE went to get us some burgers from the grill for lunch. Much easier to eat in chairs. We lounged in the pool for a little while before coming back to the cabin. The Solarium pool water wasn’t as warm as I thought it would be, in fact it was pretty cool. The pool was empty yesterday so we’re hoping the water has time to warm up before we leave.
DE and Sarah were ready to shower and get cleaned up so they could hit the casino. Bob and I came back to the cabin, hung out on the deck and read for a while before showering. Blu didn’t have a menu we were dying for tonight so we decided we’d grub out and eat in the buffet instead of getting dressed up for dinner. We were trying to make the 7pm Beatles show so were planning to meet about 5:15. Weeeeeeeelllll, the buffet doesn’t open until 6pm for dinner. So we headed up to the bar to get a drink while we wait. Finally the buffet opens. I’m telling you, this buffet rocks. There’s so much to choose from you just don’t know where to start. It all looks good. I opted for a pasta dish that was really good. Then got a cookie and little eclair for dessert. Yummm.
We cut it close – got there about 6:55. Was worth going. These guys were really good. My only complaint was it was too short. Only about 40-45 min long but what they did, they did well. From there we went to a Karaoke singing at the other end of the ship. We were trying to get DE to sing for us. Ever since we heard Jeff sing last year, we’ve been dying to get DE up there too. It was very eye opening. There was a couple from Toronto who probably did 3 songs each plus one together. Bob called them professional Karaoke singers. They must’ve been. She could do Adele – and do her justice. Her beau was a Joe Cocker wannabe. But he was good for what he did. DE finally picked a Toby Keith song and strutted his stuff. He told us he was hoarse so he didn’t belt it out but what he did sounded amazing. Hopefully before the end of the cruise he’ll do “the Dance” by Garth for me. Said he almost did that tonight.
From there they all went to the casino and I came back to the cabin to chill and journal. Who knew I’d completely delete yesterdays journaling and have to write it all over again. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. So this is it for tonight. Tomorrow is Grand Cayman. Looking forward to that excursion. Should be fun. We wanted to do Stingray City simply because everyone said if you’ve never done it you need to. But when Bob discovered there’s going to be 5 ships in port, to the tune of nearly 18,000 more people on the island on the day we’re going to be there? Naaaaaa, I’ll try to do that on another trip when there aren’t so many ships in. Hopefully it’ll be good. Will find out soon!!
Night.
