Our morning started with room service for breakfast. We were meeting DE and Sarah on the gangway at 9:30 to grab a taxi and veg out at a beach today – hopefully one with snorkeling. It was if John was standing outside the port waiting for us. We piled into his SUV and off we went. We thought we were going to Palm Beach. From what we had been able to learn from YouTube videos, reviews and reading different articles online, most of the good snorkeling beaches didn’t have facilities or food. Kind of hard to go to a beach all day without those things. So we found info on one called Palm Beach located between a couple of resorts we planned to hit. Wasn’t meant to be. John said it was a beautiful beach but no fish there. He suggested Arashi Beach, which we had read about but said there we no facilities. John said, “Of course there are facilities! Anything you want!” LOL It was a little further so our cab fare went from $17 to $26. We could handle that. Before he took off we asked if he could pick us up at 3:00. “No problem! I’ll be here at 3:00.” We got there early enough there were plenty of chairs and umbrellas to choose from. By lunch time it was filling up. In the end Bob and I didn’t snorkel. DE and Sarah went out and said there were some fish but you kind of had to look for them. And the water was cold!! So my logic was, if the snorkeling was worth it I would suck it up and deal with cold water. Since it wasn’t, I didn’t. It really didn’t matter. We were sitting in the sand listening to the waves, watching the beautiful turquoise water and chilling. Our entertainment the entire time was watching the pelicans dive for fish. Not sure why that fascinates me so much but it does. I tried to capture it on film (so to speak) but since I can’t look at my pics until I get home I really don’t know what I managed to get. (I did get a couple of decent ones – Video 1 & Video 2) It turned out to be a beautiful day and well spent at the water’s edge. John was there right at 3:00 and we were back at the ship by 3:20. We got his number for future reference. (PS – John [taxi driver] also said the Flying Fishbowl was a great restaurant. Note to self: next time we’re overnight in Aruba we need to try that.)

It was a Blu night for dinner. Natalia missed us and asked where we were last night. She is such a doll with lots of personality. Of course it was a wonderful leisurely dinner. None of us were moving too fast tonight. Seems the sun took it out of us and we were all running on empty. DE had a nice tribute to Jim though. I haven’t gotten a picture of his feet yet but he toasted them quite good at the beach today. He was wishing he had some of Jim’s aloe to rub on them. (Story from the 2016 cruise). We really didn’t do much else between dinner and the show tonight. Just walked around and killed time.

Views from the leave while leaving port – so pretty!

Savannah Smith was our headliner tonight. She performs in Vegas and has some pipes that just won’t quit. The show was a tribute to divas and she nailed every single one of them. Celebrity (or this ship) certainly has stepped up their game on the entertainment this cruise. Most of the shows in the past have been mediocre. Not that the talent was mediocre, just the theme or storyline or whatever was pretty lame. Even within mediocre shows, the talent has been amazing. We’re all glad to see the big improvement.

Bob’s in the casino trying his luck. Crossing my fingers …

Tomorrow Curacao.

Next day
