Thursday – Beautiful fog greeted us yet again this morning which canceled our Lighthouse Boat tour again. Disappointed, but nothing anyone can do about the weather so we just went to Plan B – drove into the park again to see if there were any cool fog shots from Cadillac Mountain. Unlike yesterday, the fog was worse inland than on the coast so after driving a little ways we turned around and came back to town. There were a few more things we wanted to pick up (contributing to the local economy) so we walked around town – love this little town. Where would you imagine our footsteps took us? Hmmmmm, there IS a brewery in town. It’s noon somewhere right?

After sharing a flight of tastings, a beer and some lunch we milled about town some more until we walked past the local ice cream shop – Jordan Pond Ice Cream. Reportedly the best in town. They make their own ice cream using local ingredients as much as possible – which means the blueberry ice cream is super yummy! Both of us got a blueberry shake and walked down to the park to sit on a bench and watch the world go by. It was another beautiful day. In fact it’s been an incredible week weather wise. We couldn’t have asked for more. I’m really dreading going back to our heat and humidity at home. Now I know why people summer up here. I could so get into that.
We decided to walk the Shore Path and take some photos of the fog. We weren’t the only ones with that idea. It was so peaceful and serene. I love my fog pictures. I wanted some pictures of the sandbar blanketed with fog so we walked down there again. That whole sandbar thing is just the coolest. It had still been drizzling and we knew the rain was coming in anytime so went back to the apartment for the rest of the afternoon. Thank goodness we have a restaurant right next door and didn’t have to walk far for dinner.

That’s all folks! Until tomorrow…
Friday – We slept like the dead with all the rain coming down. There is a window air conditioning unit in the bedroom and the rain falling on that was similar to the sound of rain on a tin roof. Put us right out. It was nice to just hang out and wake up slowly, stay in pjs and putz around this morning. I played with editing photos, putting them in layouts for the blog and working on my Travel Journal. It was a glorious down day.

We did venture out for dinner though. Downeast Deli has some of the best Lobsta Rolls around so we walked down to Main Street and ordered a couple to go. They were good – I got the classic this time (cold with mayo) instead of hot with butter. Both are awesome but the cold seems to be less rich to me. We opened a bottle of wine and continued our day of chilling – other than packing up what we could and toting it to the car so we’d have less to deal with in the morning when we check out.
